Summary: |
Fault characterization, which is the major focus in the research, is fault character in terms of its ability to transmit fluid from the reservoir in one compartment to another compartment within the field K Area SS2, Central Sumatra Basin. Detailed evaluation of the fault character in this area can significantly determine the appropriate field development strategy so that these areas are able to deliver optimum hydrocarbon production. The most important factor in controlling fulid flow through a faulted reservoir from one compartment to another compartment are lithological composition which represented by volume of shale. The implementation by recognizing the fault characterization is selected area for futher development in the area. The results of this research identify a potential sealing partially. In general, reservoir juxtaposition on the fault plane give range VCl 0.08 – 0.56, throw 5 – 320 meter and SGR 11 – 73%. Validation and calibration using delta reservoir fluid pressure test proved that the fault zones is sealing with a threshold value of SGR between sealing and leaking at around 26%. Based on Slip Tendency (Ts) 0.1-0.4, Dilation Tendency (Td) 0.7-0.9 and Fracture Stability (Fs) range 12-38 Mpa, faults believed in stabil condition and to have a potential sealing.
|
