Description
Summary:
West Natuna basin is one of the sedimentary basin in West Indonesia which has a big hydrocarbon resources potential. One of the Block in this basin which has not yet been produced is Arwana Block. Arwana Block is bounded by Khorat Swell in the north, Malay Basin in the northwest, Conson Basin in the northeast, and Penyu Basin in the southwest. This research is conducted to identify hydrocarbon prospect in Arwana Block, especially in interval of Reservoir 1, 2, and 3, which are parts of syn-rift deposit, Loweer Gabus Formation.
Some data which are used in this research include well-log data, cuttings, side wall core, geochemistry, biostratigraphy, and 2-D seismic. Several methods which are used in this research are well-seismic tie, 2-D seismic interpretation, basin evolution analysis, electrofacies analysis, petroleum system analysis, petrophysical analysis, Montecarlo simulation, and risk analysis.
Based on depth structure maps of each intervals, there are 8 closures which are classified as hydrocarbon prospect areas. These 8 prospects must be evaluated by petroleum system analysis and hydrocarbon resources estimation. Based on Montecarlo simulation, the amount of total hydrocarbon resources from all the intervals without considering risk factor is 30.533 MMSTB. While the amount of total hydrocarbon resources from all the intervals with considering risk factor calculation result is 1.549,67 MMSTB. The result of the prospect ranking in the research area, from the highest to the lowest are prospect 2, prospect 1, prospect 3, prospect 4, prospect 8, prospect 5, prospect 7, and prospect 6.
