Abstract <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Bangka Belitung is known as the largest center of white pepper (piper Ningrum.L) producer in Indonesia. Therefore, the white pepper became the pre-eminent commodity in Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The declining production of tin mining sector which is previously one of the leading commodities for additional sectors to improve the regional economy is one of the reasons to develop existing pre-eminent commodities by implementing the plantation revitalization of white pepper. This study aims to analyze the role of white pepper plantation development as one of the leading post tin mining programs through the revitalization of white pepper in improving regional economy and employment absorption using system dynamics methodology. The results of this study indicate that when only pepper is the priority of Bangka Belitung superior plantation when the tin mining sector weakens, regional economic growth could not offset the decline of mining sector by merely developing pepper plantation sector. Increased productivity is needed when the allocation of plantation land is limited with a focus on soil fertility and pest control and plant diseases followed by the policy of using improved varieties. The increasing productivity causes pepper production to be high even though oil palm and rubber plantations are equally developed and pepper plantations are not as large as only developed pepper. The agricultural development should be followed by the development of non-agricultural and non-tin mining sectors so as to provide added value that can offset the economic downturn of the mining sector and increase employment. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Keywords: Piper Ningrum.L, System Dynamics, Land, Productivity <br /> <br />
