The main function of coating is to provide barrier protection between substrate and environment. The aim of this study is to understand the effect of solvent composition on prime epoxy coating to its underfilm corrosion resistance and adhesion level. In addition, to make easier during application process, solvent 0%, 15%, and 30% were added to paint. Conventional spray is use on paint application. Thickness measurement, roughness, hardness and coating permeability is carried out as supporting data. Epoxy is used as premier paint to cover substrate material low carbom steel in NaCl 5% environment with cyclic corrosion salt spray test. The result from the test, the highest adhesive strength was 1.875 MPa obtained by coating with 15% solvent. Cyclic corrosion testing showed that sample with 15% solvent had the lowest underfill corrosion area, with Xmax 0.64 mm and Ymax 0.69 mm. The result of FTIR showed that there is no effect of solvent on the chemical structure formed. <p align="justify"> text
