Undecenol is one of raw materials to produce polyester through carbonylative polymerizations.&#61472;&#61543;-Butyrolactone can be synthesized from 2- propenol through cyclocarbonylation reaction. The process can be initiated by Co2(CO)8. Generally, Co2(CO)8 is synthesized from Co(II) with high pressure of CO (200 bar). This research aims to synthesize Co2(CO)6L2 (L=P(Ph)3, P(OPh)3) produced from CoCl2 and Co(OAc)2 in mild condition. [Co2(CO)6(PPh)3)2] complex was synthesized with CO of 24 bar at 160 oC over night. The complex gave CO terminal vibration at 1944 cm-1. Coordination of PPh3 was analyzed by 31P NMR and showed a 31P resonance at 29.48 ppm. [Co2(CO)6(P(OPh)3)2] complex has &#65533;CO 1919 cm-1 and 2007 cm-1. 31P resonance of the product showed multi peaks, indicating the presence of various cobalt-phosphite complexes. Activity of [Co2(CO)6(PPh)3)2] and [Co2(CO)6(P(OPh)3)2] was tested in carbonylative polymerization and cyclocarbonylation reactions. Carbonylative polymerization of undecenol was done by mixing the olefin alcohol, cobalt complex (5% mol), 6 bar of H2(g) and 24 bar of CO(g) in a high pressure reactor for 18 hours. The product gave an carbonyl ester vibration at 1735 cm-1. Cyclocarbonylation of 2-propenol was expected to give a carbonyl ester vibration at 1770 cm-1. Herein, a weak vibration of CO ester at 1718 cm-1 was observed in the product.<p align="justify"> text
