Summary: | <p align="justify">Increasing the quality of tourist attraction and shopping, as well as the image of fashion city, makes Bandung is well known as a tourism area and shopping center by tourists and travelers. The rise of tourists every year and the government support by planning Bandung city center as tourism destination requires the existence of supporting facilities that can fulfil the needs of these activities. Consequently, the existence of pedestrian facilities is vital since tourism activities, such as shopping cannot be separated from walking. Tourists and travelers have special needs in term of travelling in the city center, but the government only establishes shopping center without providing a decent pedestrian for tourists and travelers which can support their activities. The purpose of this study is to design a pedestrian facility that suits the needs of tourists and travelers. The principle formulation is based on the formulation of the problem that is considered from the necessity based on the respondent characteristics, the physical analysis of the area, and the condition of the facility based on the respondents' assessment. The results of the study address the principle of designing pedestrian facilities in general in the region and are more detailed based on the typology of the corridor and type of arcade pedestrian, pedestrian mall and sidewalk pedestrian that are adjusted considering the needs of respondents and the exsisting conditions as well as the characteristics of the corridor.<p align="justify"> |
