Description
Summary:Palm tree is the main producer of vegetable oil. Palm oil has some excellences than other vegetable oils. Palm oil is one of the non-oil and gas export commodities which is very important for the economy of Indonesia. Oil palm plantations in Indonesia must continue to increase their productivity by good management and maintenance. The role of Mathematics to increase the productivity is indispensable. Principal component analysis (PCA) is a method that can be used to analyze chemical factors in the soil. This method is able to reduce the dimensions of a multivariate and interdependent data. Dimension reduction can be done by maintaining variation of the data, meaning that the data remains well represented. PCA can be done by eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) or singular value decomposition (SVD). In this thesis, data processing is done using PCA with SVD. Through PCA, several factors which have big effect in soil obtained. Thus, the maintenance of palm tree can be carried out more efficiently.
