For instance, one of the methods of the mass production to produce plastic is injection molding process. In addition, one of the most important component from injection molding process is the mold. PT. Pyojoon Mold Indonesia is a company that specialized in mold production. A high-quality mold is a key role to aim an excelent product. However, to achieve those outcome, a suitable design and settings would be necessary. If ever it is not perfectly created, as a result a defect may show on the product. In this research, the case of a defect on a speedometer cover will be appointed. this product was PA 12 plastic based and a defect was found on the weld line and warpage. in the other hand, this research was intended to do an analysis and parameter process optimization also to focus on the design of the mold to minimalize the defect so that the product will be obtained on a better outcome. further, the injection molding process was simulated by MAPS-3D software which was used as an analysis auxiliary tool so that the mold does not need to be produced and go through the injection process directly. a method to increase the quality for example the fishbone, taguchi, and trial and error was required to minimalized the defect on this research. <p align="justify"> text |
