Description
Summary:
The project is a community-specific library of literature. This project was initiated by Majelis Sastra Bandung, one of the largest literary community in Bandung. Bandung Literary Assembly has no container to move and depend on Gedung Indonesia Menggugat. This library is also built in accordance with the purpose of MSB, which is generating more literacy or reading / writing activities in the community. In addition, also see from the fact that libraries are less likely to live. Therefore, it is expected that the activities created in this library will make the library more lively and as a fun and active community, not only as a monotonous reading place and people just go away after that.

The library is located on an area of 5000 m2 and is planned to consist of 5 floors. The design and program of the library space should support the activities of the literary community, such as seminars, studies, poetry reading, exhibitions, book publishing, etc. In addition, libraries are also intended for the general public and they are free to participate or just watch community activities. To create a fun community atmosphere, the library is also designed informally, casually, and attractively, and then added additional functions such as cafe, bookstore, lounge, etc. To respond to land located on a street corner, is done by placing a cylindrical period as the prime moment at an angle, as the main view catcher. To overcome the noise, used trees around the library as a buffer. The building also faces north-south and every window is given a canopy to avoid direct sunlight. Then, to overcome the conflict between functions one with other functions, the building period is separated according to function so that one activity does not interfere with other activities.
