<p align="justify">The existence of demands and high competition in urban life makes people work continuously. Without realizing it, people tend to experience fatigue, boredom, to cause stress reactions. In overcoming this situation, the community tends to get out of their neighborhood and look for interesting places to get restorative experience. The Jam Gadang Area is a location that provides many interesting places related to the main functions of the city including commercial services, services and recreation, so that the people of Bukittinggi City enjoy it. The purpose of this study is to formulate the criteria of component an interesting place for restoration purposes in Jam Gadang Area through public perception. This research use quantitative and qualitative methods (mix method) which is explorative. Quantitative research methods are used when collecting and analyzing data. Qualitative research methods are used in the process of analyzing text data. Data collection is done by online survey method using a questionnaire. The analytical method used is content analysis, distribution analysis, and correspondence analysis. The results of this study found two groups of criteria to components an interesting place that caused people to come to the Jam Gadang Area for restoration purposes, namely the main criteria and supporting criteria. Main criteria of component an interesting place consist of a cool temperature, a beautiful environment, a quiet atmosphere, a comfortable place, availability of seating, connected to natural scenery, and availability of children's playground. Supporting criteria of component an interesting place consist of spot photos, availability of various products, various foods and beverages, there are street food, shopping, formal dining, spacious places, and landmark.<p align="justify">
