Summary: |
The demand of drinking water in Indonesia is increasing along with the increasing number of population. To optimize the fulfillment of water needs, it can be done by increasing production capacity (upgrading) the Water Treatment Plant and developing the distribution networks in unserved areas. This research will present the technical recommendation of evaluation with comparison method and upgrading process with modification method and the potential development of the distribution network with simulation method using Epanet 2.0 and also present the financial analysis of upgrading with analysis method using Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), serta Payback Period (PP). IPA 1 Unit Cendana has a design capacity with the discharge 300 l/sec which will be increased to 450 l/sec. The results of the evaluation for coagulation unit and also sedimentation unit, indicates that the parameters are already appropriate with the design criteria, except the detention time in the coagulation unit. That means, it is still possible to do the upgrading to this installation. Modification of the coagulation is done by adding the high of waterfall and the overall basin to be 50 cm with the type of mixing and hydraulic. Modifications sedimentation unit is done by replacing the entire tube settler with a distance 4 cm and height 1.5 m, and adding the height of the tub, from 4.2 m to 5.2 m. While the filtration unit showed that the discharge 300 l/s still doesn’t appropriate with criteria design, flow velocity and expansion of filtration media. So the addition is make another unit without change the existing units with filtration velocity 9 m/hr and surface area 120 m2 (9 additional filtration unit). The simulation results of distribution network up to the 10th years show a minimum pressure 24 m, so it is still possible to develop the service. The result of financial analysis, this project concidered deserves to be continued because the number of NPV>0, BCR>1 and Payback Period at the 8th month. Cost of Revenues with existing flowrate 300 l/s is Rp 3.600,-/m3, while with the flowrate 450 l/s is Rp 5.600,-/m3.
|
