Summary:<p align="justify">Gunung Karang, which is located in Karangsari Village, Cipongkor, West Bandung District. Gunung Karang is a new quarry location purposing in building the Upper Cisokan Hydropower Plant. The main purpose of this research study is to determine the probability of Gunung Karang's andesite as roller-compacted concrete (RCC) aggregate based on geotechnical parameters, resources, and excavation method that are appropriate with geological condition on research study area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Analysis of geotechnical parameters include the examination of specific gravity test, absorption test, abrasion test, soundness test, and unconfined compressive strength test which was obtained from six core drilling samples and three surface samples for comparation. The analysis resulting specific gravity's values between 2.48 – 2.52, absorption values 4.03 – 5.37%, and abrasion values between 16.12 – 38.64%. Futhermore, the soundness values of andesite between 2.02 – 25.35% and the unconfined compressive strength values between 239.06 - 550.32 kg/cm2. Quality of andesite is declining in the east corner of Gunung Karang because of the alteration process with the low – medium intensity of alteration process which are known by the existence of chlorites, calcites, and micas. The volumetric calculation of andesite, with cross section method in east corner of Gunung Karang, shows indicated resource is 1.653.486.51 m3. Excavation method is analyzed based on discontinuity spacing index (&#119868;&#119891;) and point load index (&#119868;&#119904;). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Discontinuity spacing index value ranges between 0,04 – 0.19 m, on the otherhand, point load index values between 0.97 – 2.27 MPa. Based on the data above, the suitable excavation method are easy ripping.<p align="justify">
