The research area includes D. Sibualbuali and D. Lubukraya. Based on landscape and geological condition, geotourism study in this area is worth to be conducted. This study aims are reconstruct the geological condition of the research area and to study the geotourism which will be presented in the form of maps. Primary data used in this research is geomorphological data, lithology data obtained from field observation, and structural geology data. To achive these objectives, structural gelology and petrographic analysis were conducted to reconstruct the geological condition and geotourism analysis to create a geotrek map. The study area consists of four geomorphological units, are Sibualbuali Pyroclastic Flow and Lava Flow Hill Unit, Marancar Incised Valley Unit, Lubukraya Foothill Unit, and Lubukraya Lava Dome Unit. The rocks unit in these area include of Tuff 1 Unit, Dasit Unit, Tuff 2 Unit, Flow Lapili-Tuff Unit, Andesite Unit, and Andesite-Basaltic Unit. These rock units can be synchronized with the Tuff Toba Unit, The Sibualbuali Volcanic Unit, and The Lubukraya Volcanic Unit. The main structure patterns in the research area trending northwest-southest and followed with Sumatra Fault System. Based on the study of geotourism, there are five geotrek themes, namely Sibualbuali Hiking Geotrek, Marancar River Geotrek, Malakkut River Geotrek, Sipenggeng River Geotrek, and The Aeknabara Geotrek. Geological sites in the research area have a uniqe history of formation process, unique appearance, and varied field exploration. text |
