Description
Summary:
This thesis represents an example of applying conception of Building as Landscape (Architecture as Landscape) that first time told by Emilio Ambasz in the year 1987 in his book titled The Poetics of The Pragmatic. Emilio Ambasz starts from the point of view, that building (architecture) has not always to be on the land, but can be part of the nature so that its willing not to be seen.

The Tegallega Park, one of the potential green open space in central city of Bandung, was taken as a case study. The park has already existed since Indiesche Government and represents one of the public open space which is still active in Bandung. From many activities which have been doing inside, there are still lack of facilities and infrastructure and also the condition of the park is not well maintained. By applying the concept of building as landscape to design the public facilities in The Tegallega Park, hopefully can increase the quality and function of this park.

The design process of this thesis started by doing direct survey to the site, interviewing and giving questioners to various people, doing a library and precedent research, then arrange space programming as a base for the design to be done. The final result is in the form of design criteria formula of Building as Landscape concept by considering the condition of local climate.
