Exploration activity still performed in this block targeting existing formation and play and exploring deeper for new play and formation. Exploration reality shows that in the eastern part of this block consider high risk because the kitchen which is believed as the source for hydrobon charging is from central deep depocenter located in the western part of this block. Long migration has been a challenge for the explorationist in this block maturing prospects in the eastern part of this block. Aurora block is a back arc basin formed in Eocene. A series of half graben trending relatively northeast – southwest formed during rifting in the Eocene until early Miocene act as main kitchen that charging the East Java basin reservoirs with hydrocarbon. Ngimbang shale believed to be the mature, rich and act as main source rock for this working petroleum system. From this geological modelling can be predicted that studied area experienced two periods of uplifting. On seven to five million years ago and continued on three years ago until now. Uplifting in here associated with RMKS (Rembang-Madura- Kangean-Sakala) fault zone and subduction of India ocean crust in the south. Southern part of studied area has been uplifted very intensive resulted Madura Island uplifted to current position. 1D modelling results from five wells in this area show that Ngimbang formation in central deep (west) and Madura sub-basin (south) are mature and expelled oil and gas. 3D modelling result showing that Madura sub-basin expelled oil and gas and has a contribution on charging the Aurora block’s reservoirs. This study helps explaining the hydrocarbon migration in the studied area so it can help assessing the migration risk for the prospects in the eastern area.<p align="justify"> text
