When monsoon cames, many roads in Bandung flooded by cileuncang. The drainage system unable to contain heavy rain and overflow to the roads, and with high altitude and hilly topography, this water inundation turns into a heavy river like currents that could be dangerous. Some longterm solutions has been strived by the government, but the results only could be seen at least few years from now. Meanwhile cileuncang keeps happening, so a warning mobile apps could be an alternate solution for the need of information a warning that will be benefit for the citizen as the end user. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Using “Design Thinking” as a method, starting from “empathize” by observing, literature readings, and interviewing citizens and cileuncang expert. In “define” phase problem assesed and digged to find the main problem. Road users are bound to be the potential victim because cileuncang mainly happened on the road all of sudden, so they need some kind of warning system to avoid flooded area. Next, by using “ideate” and “prototyping” phase to answer the problems with user-centered design approach. The way people react in crisis situation and what is crucial for user is to get warnings in right time, then we applied that into User Experience and User Interface within the app. When faced with crisis related app, information must be given in brief, clear, and easy enough to be understand in visual glance. User was expected to access all information they need fast. External factor like where will the user be when using this app and how people would use gadget while driving is deeply taken into account in the proccess. The prototype then tested to show any mishap and error in early stage before the app is launched, then fixed to ensure its design and function met all expected goals. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This cileuncang alert mobile apps called “Siaga Cileucang” has main features such as personalized warning system, flood map, news timeline, and a navigation for alternative safer route option. The flood map makes easier for user to see the danger based on their location. “Safe Route” feature to guide users to their destination safely despite cileuncang. Users can be active contributor by reporting info, photo, or video of cileuncang to Tim URC. The post-test results indicate that this app is easy to operate and information received well. Some minor updates were made to fix some bug, alter layout, UI, some buttons, and some change in feature to make the app more responsive. and navigation feature were added to guide user while driving. text |
