PAni is one of the easiest synthesized polymers,

either by chemical reaction or electrochemical. In this study, the polyaniline was synthesized using pulse

electropolymerization method by varying the percent duty, HCl concentration, and aniline concentration.

Variation of percent duty used was 50; 60; 65; 75; 80; 83,3; and 85,7%. Variation of HCl concentration

used was 1; 1,5; 2; 2,5; and 3 M. Variation of aniline concentration used was 0,25; 0,5; 0,75; 1; and 1,25

M. PAni was characterized using FTIR ATR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, SEM, and measured its

cell performance by dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). The results of FTIR ATR spectroscopy show that

PAni has distinctive peaks of emeraldine, namely vibration of quinonoid ring and benzenoid ring,

vibration C-N, vibration bend C-H. In addition, there is a peak showing the formation of phenazine in

PANi polymer chains. In the Raman spectroscopy from variation of percent duty, more intense peak

appear at 1520 cm-1 (duty 60% and 65%), 1481 cm-1 (duty 75%) and 1483 cm-1 (duty 80-85,7 %) showing

the peak of vibration C=N quinonoid. In variation of HCl concentration, Raman shifts at 1191 cm-1 and

1623 cm-1, indicating bending vibration of C-H benzenoid and vibration of C-C benzenoid, were

increased after HCl concentration was increased to 1,5 M. In variation of aniline concentration, Raman

shift at 1568 cm-1, which shows the vibration of C=C quinonoid, very intense at aniline concentration

1,25 M. In the SEM, the PAni was synthesized using pulse electropolymerization method have fibershaped

morphology with a rough surface. From the FESEM, the surface of PAni's morphology is covered

by bulge like a thorn with size 6-11 nm. The diameter of polyaniline ranges from 100-550 nm. In

characterization of DSSC using solar simulator highest efficiency is 0,76% when percent duty is 50%,

concentration of HCl is 2 M, and concentration of aniline is 0,75 M. text
