Summary: |
Indonesia is an archipelago that lies at the confluence of volcanoes, Mediterranean and circum-pacific form the rings of fire. This condition contributes to Indonesia being the country prone to natural disasters. In the last ten-year period (2004-2014), natural disasters statistics show an increase in quantity and quality.
Disasters occur 60 times a year, which is the average in a week there is one disaster at a different scale. The problems arising from the disaster that occurred is damage to infrastructure and public facilities including hospitals that needed support facilities to serve the emergency needs for medical treatment is a field hospital. Design problems that arise are the demands of high mobility to reach remote areas so that the field hospital must be easy and light to carry, but on the other hand, a field hospital should also be sturdy in construction. The aim of the thesis based on this design is to plan and design a friendly-user field hospital in using (installation–dismantling–transport–storage), suited to the conditions and needs in remote areas (flexible and portable) and also pay attention to aesthetics and ease of discoverability (material finding) which can be a solution of the problem of immediate health needs after disasters in Indonesia. The method used is primary and secondary data collection-processing to define and establish
criteria for the design, the stage of concept, design exploration, study models and mockups, discussion, revision, finalizing the design, manufacture and testing
prototypes. The results of the thesis are the form of design criteria, the design concept, the structural system is in operation carry (light weight, dimensions are not too big and quick), build (fast and can be built by anyone although not experts), unload, store, maintain and prototype scale (1:5 and 1:20).
|
