Summary:Oil and Gas is still the main energy source in Indonesia. Demand for Oil and Gas in Indonesia was only increasing with time. Therefore the production of Oil and Gas was the main concern of various oil and gas companies. They are vying to produce petroleum and natural gas production as much as possible with minimum expenditure. But there were many problems in production activities, one of which is the corrosion of the tubing, especially in wells that produce water, carbon dioxide, and sulfuric acid. Because of these substances is a major cause corrosion on tubing. Corrosion on the tubing will cause a lot of problems, namely the erosion of material tubing and tubing leak, so it is necessary to replace the tubing workover activities were damaged. This workover activity is an activity that requires a lot of expenditure and also requires a short processing time so it can not cause a great loss. <br /> <br /> To avoid corrosion , many ways can be done to prevent corrosion , one of which is a way to add chemicals or by using a material that is resistant to corrosion . However, these materials are not cheap , therefore it is necessary to do the calculations to determine what materials are suitable for use on a particular well . <br /> <br /> In this paper the authors conducted a study to estimate the corrosion rate of a gas condensate wells in the field . Forecasting the corrosion rate is based on various data such as properties and composition of the fluid that is reproduced, the well profile and the material used. Based on these data will be calculated corrosion rate of the well. <br /> <br /> By calculating the rate of corrosion in the well , it can be predicted when it should have been done a workover wells , and also what material should be used . In this way the age of a tubing can be added by selecting the appropriate materials .
