More often than not, taking care of hydroponics plant can get complicated, resulting in failure. This difficulties can be aided by sytem automation, monitoring, and guide. <br /> <br /> MoCoponic is a system design to fulfill the needs for NFT hydroponics. In order to show the data and to control the parameters, mobile apps and server are necessary. This Android based mobile apps takes care of all user interactions to the device such as plant choosing, guide, notifications when the parameter is out of range, displaying plant parameter data (nutrient concentration, pH, and temperature), parameter limit value settings, and social media shares. Cloud server is used as data transmission media and notifications sending handler. <br /> <br /> In this stage, the development is done for android platform, communications via internet, and one type of plants. Despite having all the necessary spesifications, share dialog used to share to social mdia still needs the default Facebook for Android and takes around 3 seconds to open. Apart from that, the implemented application has no bidirectional navigaton system for specific view, mainly the guide view. The notifications sent are also a bit slow, around 400 ms, since the cloud server uses Google Firebase Spark, the free version. Another thing to note is the ability for the application to change connection from internet to local area network when the device is near user’s smartphone. <br /> <br /> For future development, it is expected to have application’s own interface for Facebook share dialog. It is also expected for the implemented application to be able to share to other social media as well. It is also necessary to have access to all view from navigation menu. For release purpose, the application needs to have a faster notification sending process which will be easily solved by using the paid version of Google Firebase.
