Summary: | Railroad geometry is designed to get the best route for the train operation. However, in designing the geometrics, irregular contours become one of problems that need to be solved, for example the existence of valleys, hills, mountains, and ravines. In this project there are valleys in several locations. It is necessary to make a solution so that trains can still pass on the route. One of the solutions chosen in planning this railway is to build a bridge structure with certain considerations. In order for the train to cross the bridge safely, the bridge structure needs to be well designed.

In this final project, we will discuss about designing the substructure of the railway bridge. However, before conducting the foundation design, it is necessary to evaluate the potential of liquefaction in the location due to the condition of the existing. The soil in the location is type of loose sand and located in earthquake zone.

The method used to determine the liquefaction potential is the Seed method, by counting Factor of Safety. The stages for the foundation design in this final project are the interpretation of soil data, analyzing the bearing capacity of single pile, pile group configuration, analyzing the bearing capacity of group pile, determination of pilecap dimension based on number dan configuration of the pile in every group pie, group pile settlement analysis, and calculation for pile and |
