Various software has been developed to assist the design process, but the price of the software is not economical for small and medium industries. Therefore, we need an affordable software which can help shaft design process for small and medium industries. The software will be written in Visual Basic and the calculation will be carried out using empirical equation. The test results show that the software that has been created has a maximum error value of 0,94% from the value obtained by hand calculations and 3,49% from the value obtained using finite element methode. Therefore, it can be concluded that this software is good enough to be used by small and medium industries. text |
