Description
Summary:
The traditional wall construction of weaving bamboo is no longer able to meet the needs of local society. One of the innovations to improve the performance of the weaving bamboo wall is by adopting a bahareque construction which has many advantages, even have the same construction method with local plastered bamboo wall in Indonesia. The innovation also utilizing local wisdom of bamboo weaving techniques that have potential as part of the structural system, not only as a filler layer. The weaving bamboo substitute esterilla layer which is the original layer of the wall bahareque. Simulations and laboratory experiments used to test a model to determine the effect of weaving bamboo on the bamboo frame structure performace. Four weaving tested consists of biaxial-weaving (two axes), triaxial-weaving (three axis) and multidirectional-weaving (four axes). Based on the test results revealed that bamboo proven effect on the vertical stiffness of bamboo frame. Factors that affect the performance of the bamboo weaving is weaving density, wide and thick bamboo strip, as well as weaving pattern that is used. It is known that a triaxial pattern is most efficient and most excellent serviceability capabilities.
