Geographically, the research area is located at UTM coordinates of 215400-221400 mE and 9165500-9157000 mS (49S zone). The reseach area is 51 km2. <br /> Geomorphologically, the research area is divided into two geomorphological units. Those units are Karangkemiri Homocline Hills Unit and Sukasari Cuesta Hills Unit. The <br /> research area is in young-mature geomorphic stage. <br /> Stratigraphically, the research area can be divided into four non-formal lithological units. Those units are: Breccia Unit which was deposited during Early Miocene in upper submarine fan environment; Sandstone A Unit which was deposited conformably above Breccia Unit during Middle Miocene in middle-outer neritic environment; Limestone Unit which was deposited interfingering with Sandstone A Unit during Middle Miocene in inner-middle neritic environment; and Sandstone B Unit which was deposited unconformably during Late Miocene-Pliocene in inner neritic environment. Faults in the research area are structures that had been formed in Cretaceous-Paleocene epoch that were reactivated in Plio-Pleistocene epoch by tectonic compressional activity with northsouth trend. <br /> Hydrogeological observation result shows that the aquifer in the research area is a sedimentary rock aquifer system with unconfined aquifer type. Aquifers in the research <br /> area are the Weathered Breccia Unit, Sandstone A Unit, Limestone Unit, and Sandstone B Unit. Its groundwater type is fresh (TDS 15,8 – 314 mg/L) with the dominant flows towards SW and SE. Carbonate mineral dissolution results in higher TDS and pH value in the southern than in the northern parts. Based on TDS and pH value analysis, and referring to Permenkes RI No.492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010, the consumable groundwater is in the northern part.<p align="justify"> text |
