DETERMINATION OF HAULING UNIT NUMBER REQUIRED FOR COAL GETTING AT PIT 13 HWPB PT INDOMINCO MANDIRI

PT Indominco Mandiri is a mining company that has a permission to mine seam coal, located in Bontang East Kalimantan. Regarding to the coal getting activity, PT Indominco Mandiri using Excavator Komatsu PC300 for coal excavating and Dump Truck Hino 30 tons for coal transport. The number of loading and hauling equipment used, should be able to fulfill the production target that has been planned. Therefore, this study is aimed to evaluate the loading and hauling units performance and provide a recommendation to determine the number of loading and hauling units that should be used to fulfill the production target. <br /> <br /> The study is preceded by data collection from Pit 13 HWPB. Then carried out the productivity of loading and hauling units are then calculated. After that, daily production can be calculated using the units productivity. <br /> <br /> Based on field observation, it is found that the loading units used is 1 unit Excavator Komatsu PC300 and the hauling units are 5 Dump Truck Hino 30 tons. From this combination can be obtained that the match factor value is 0,428 and the daily production is 1906,2 tons. This daily production is less than the production target that has been planned (4000 tons per day). Therefore from the study analysis and calculation it is obtained that number of hauling units is 11 of Dump Truck Hino 30 tons that able to produce 4193,62 tons of coal per day. By this combination the match factor value will be 0,942.
