PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) is a State Owned Enterprise (BUMN) which is 100% owned by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia as an aircraft manufacturing in Indonesia, that means the only one in Indonesia. By considering the geography of Indonesia which consists of many islands and the population is very much, besides that no less interesting is the economic growth is very good, with that condition the needs of aircrafts in Indonesia are very high. The raw materials to build the aircraft are still imported from Europe and USA, where the composition for material consume around 60% from the total cost. <br /> <br /> From the production planning processes currently still have problem due to not available material required in the store which eventually resulted in late delivery to the next process in production line or customers. Firstly there are two prerequisites that company needs to have in order to ensure the material availability, which are appropriate with planning methods and material supply system. Secondly, company needs to respond to missing material in the right way by doing preventive activities, which are to perform root cause analysis on the problems that occur as well as improving the process by using the effective problem solving methods. For that, this final project attempt to analysis to find out the root cause and give the best solution so that the availability material can support the production shop. <br /> <br /> Key word : Availability common stock fastener material, material planning, material supply systems, root cause and problem solving.
