Summary:The thesis presented an analysis of shape optimization of axisymmetric shells The method of optimization used was the sequential unconstrained minimization techniques CSUMT) The method of SUMT used was the interior penalty function. For searching direction and unconstrained optimization, a variable metric optimization (Davidon Fletcher Powell) was used. Step lengths were determined by applying cubic interpolation method.The finite element method was applied to analyze stresses. The method of solution mentioned above was applied for shape optimization of axisymmetric shells with uniform surface load, liquid load and weight of the shell.
