Summary: |
Capsule trains are public transportation as an alternative solution to traffic problems in major cities of Indonesia. Capsule trains use a special track that built on the road (elevated) to avoid traffic due to land use or existing roads. Before the concept of the capsule train is operated, a series of technical analysis and evaluation are needed to assess the feasibility of the vehicle. The purpose of this final project is to evaluate the dynamic stability of the capsule train on a straight and curve track based on UIC 518 standard and provide recommendations for determining the safe operating speed limits. Modelling is done with the help of software and then the model will be simulated on various operating scenarios to evaluate the performance of the train. The stability assessment of the capsule train is measured by guidance force, nadal ratio, and acceleration of passenger comfort. The simulation result shows that the capsule train is safe to operates up to the maximum design speed on a straight track. Capsule train also operates safely on the minimum curve track at the design operating speed. The recommendations given to the minimum curve track are superelevation of 89 mm, safe operation speed of 38 km/h, and curve transition length of 36 m.
|
