TIA has been characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). TIA has better stability than fish bone (TI), calcium alginate, and alginate in acidic pH as indicated by the reduction data of adsorbent mass in a solution of nitric acid pH 1,2. The adsorption capacity of TIA to lead (II) and cadmium (II) were 26,37, 40,07 and 48,63 mg g-1 and 15,47, 16,06, and 16, respectively, 84 mg g-1 with an adsorbent size of 20, 30, and 60 mesh. The amount of lead (II) absorbed by TIA with the amount of adsorbent 0.1 - 0.5 g is 30,4 - 100% at a concentration of 50 ppm, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 27,9 - 100% at a concentration of 100 ppm, and 78.7 - 100% at a concentration of 200 ppm. The amount of cadmium (II) absorbed by TIA with the amount of adsorbent 0,1 – 0,5 g is 7,3 - 67,1% at concentration 50 ppm, 7,1 - 67,4% at concentration 100 ppm, and 14,8 - 736% at a concentration of 200 ppm.
