One of the best methods

that has been proved can highly increase the oil production is miscibile CO2 injection. In doing miscibile CO2 injection EOR, the value of Minimum Miscibility Pressure (MMP) becomes the success key. One of the problems

faced by the Indonesia’s oil fields in doing the miscibile CO2 injection EOR is the reservoir pressure has already been decreased because of the mature fields. Therefore, the MMP cannot be achieved and it is hard to do the injection while MMP is higher than reservoir pressure. One solution that can be applied to overcome this problem is by decreasing the value of MMP using Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG).

This study will determine the optimum method in using LPG to decrease the MMP CO2 injection value of oil from

field X in South Sumatera. Then, the value of MMP in several conditions will be determined by using slimtube

simulation and later be used to construct the correlation in order to calculate the value of MMP. From the results of the study, it can be inferred that, in principal, the method of blending the LPG and CO2 before the gas is injected to the reservoir is the optimum method to decrease the MMP value. Furthermore, 27.5% increment of Molecular Weight of hexane plus increases the MMP value by 23% averagely, 20% increment of temperature increases the MMP value by 13.4% averagely, and 30% increment of LPG composition in CO2 – LPG injection gas decreases the MMP value by 29.5%.

The correlation is then constructed by parameters that significantly influence in determining the MMP value. The proposed correlation has 98.65% of R-Squared. The correlation then will be tested to calculate the value MMP that has been inferred before from slimtube simulation. This results to 4.52% Average Absolute Relative Error (AARE). The correlation will be compared to other MMP correlations using 9 data of fluids from several literatures. The result is the proposed correlation has AARE value of 10.82%.
text
