Smaller casing could influence production activity of a wellbore, especially when reservoir reaches mature phase. Therefore the application of artificial lift is needed to give additional energy to the reservoir. <br /> <br /> Slim ESP as the new technology comes to solve the problem above. This device offers size advantage, up to 2” in diameter, to overcome limited wellbore condition. Using Normal ESP to extreme condition may generate frictions between casing and pump, as a result of small clearance between pump and casing. This could lead to a wear condition in our casing. <br /> <br /> This paper will describe a method to design and forecast the performace of Slim ESP in several well cases at Indonesia’s field and give a comparison to Normal ESP’s performance. Several key parameters such as production rate, efficiency, and head/stage between these two pumps, together with economical analysis of Slim ESP will also be highlighted in this paper. This method helps us to evaluate the use of Slim ESP in a field. text
