Bengawan Solo is the longest river in Java. In the segment of Wonogiri-Sragen, some industries which disposed their wastewater to Bengawan Solo are textile, garment, plastic, metals, and chemical. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the heavy metals (Cd, Cr (VI), Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn) pollution in water and sediment at Bengawan Solo river particularly Wonogiri-Sragen segment. Samples were collected from nine sampling points. Heavy metals concentration are obtained by extracting water samples (Standard Method Examination for Water and Wastewater 21st Edition 2005) and sediment samples (EPA Method 3050B 1996) then measured by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry. The results showed the concentration of Cu in water is 0.0074 to 0.0356 mg/L so it does not meet quality standard in Regulation No. 82 of 2001 at Gajah Mungkur, Serenan, Kyai Mojo, Jurug, and Jenar point. Zn concentration in water is 0.0469 to 0.2654 mg/L so it does not meet quality standards at all points except Kyai Mojo. In sediments, based on the regulations of the US EPA Region V, Kembangan point is moderately polluted while Gawan being heavily polluted by Cr (VI). Based on the concentration of Cu, sediment in Serenan, Kyai Mojo, Jurug, Mojosongo, and Jenar point classified as moderately polluted. Based on the content of Ni, sediment in Gawan classified as heavily polluted while based on the concentration of Zn, sediment in Jurug and Jenar classified as being moderately polluted. Distribution of heavy metals in water and sediments associated with activities around the sampling points.<p align="justify"> text
