Summary: |
Indonesia energy consumption of transport, industry, power generation, and electricity for households sector increase annually. In fact, the availability of fossil fuels are decrease. One solution of these problems to tackle these problems by conversion of plastic waste to alternative energy. In order to reduce solid waste, it can be preserve fossil fuels. In the study, black plastic bag (HDPE), transparent plastic (LDPE), and plastic sack (PP) will be turned into alternative fuel through pyrolysis-condensation process in batch during 90, 110, 130, and 150 minutes. experiments were conducted using a sealed reactor series at 600 W and temperatures up to 500?C. Total time of pyrolysis - condensation and plastic type influence on oil production and quality. From 300 gram plastic waste produced maximum oil at optimum time (110 minutes), whereas 50.03% of black plastic bag, 92.56% of transparent plastic, and 83.68% of plastic sack. Lead content (Pb), density, color, visual appearance, calorific value, and chemical compound of those plastic oil known as black plastic bag, transparent plastic, plastic sack potentially to be used as alternative fuel.
|
