Total of <br /> <br /> family planning acceptors in West Java is as many as 5,654,907 with 226,337 <br /> <br /> active acceptors coming from the city of Bandung with the most contraceptive <br /> <br /> method being oral contraceptive 15.39% and injection contraceptive 43.32%. <br /> <br /> However, withdrawal rate of contraceptives in Indonesia is still quite high, <br /> <br /> reaching 25.7% by 2016, so that the optimization of health personnel <br /> <br /> performance should be improved to provide relevant information for acceptor to <br /> <br /> improve compliance, especially for oral and injected contraceptive acceptor. <br /> <br /> Interprofessional Education is an effort to manifest quality PF program, through <br /> <br /> the improvement of competence of PF service. Interprofessional collaboration <br /> <br /> enables learning about working together by providing the knowledge, skills and <br /> <br /> attitudes necessary to collaborate effectively. This study was aimed to identify the <br /> <br /> level knowledge of health personnel related to oral and injectable contraceptive <br /> <br /> drugs and evaluate the perceptions of health personnel on IPE in the city of <br /> <br /> Bandung. This study used an experimental method with one group type pre-post <br /> <br /> test design. The data was analyzed using a Willcoxon rank test from <br /> <br /> questionnaires on knowledge of health personnel with oral and injection <br /> <br /> contraceptives and questionnaires on the perceptions of health personnel on IPE <br /> <br /> before and after FGD (Focus Group Discussion). The result of the analysis <br /> <br /> showed that the level of knowledge decreased in 5 health personnel, increased in <br /> <br /> 152 personnel and no change observed in 4 personnel. Meanwhile, the result of <br /> <br /> analysis on perception of health personnel on IPE demonstrated decrease in 22 <br /> <br /> personnel, increase in 114 personnel, and no changes in 25 personnel. The results <br /> <br /> of the present study show that IPE Focus Group Discussion significantly <br /> <br /> increases the knowledge of health personnel on injection contraceptives and <br /> <br /> significantly increases perceptions on the need to collaborate between health <br /> <br /> professionals. <br /> text |
