As a basic human need, food crops, especially rice, are the main commodities in Indonesia. More than 90% of Indonesians people consume rice. Currently farmers in Indonesia are still many who apply conventional cropping systems. One of the areas in Indonesia that is negatively affected by the use of chemicals in the form of inorganic fertilizer is Subang Regency, which is the third largest rice production in West Java. In 2014, the rice produced by Subang Regency contains pesticide residues and chlorine above the threshold. The high potential of organic rice has not been fully utilized by the farmers in Subang Regency. At the end of 2014, recorded poverty in Subang Regency almost 72 percent more which is generally dominated by farmers Therefore, Paguyuban Bumi Mandiri is farmers-group that want to take advantage of this potential and improve the welfare of rice farmers through organic rice. <br /> <br /> Opportunities to increase consumer demand for organic food, especially rice cannot be utilized optimally because organic rice production in Paguyuban Bumi Mandiri tends to remain and the area of organic certified land has not been entirely, only 5.6 hectares of 41 hectares owned by its members. Not only that, Paguyuban Bumi Mandiri had some gaps between its supply and demand for each product. To investigate and explore the issue in this research, Enviromental Scanning and Supply Chain Analysis are used. For Enviromental Scanning, this research used PESTLE analysis, Porter's Five Forces, Market Analysis.And for and Supply Chain Analysis, and Stakeholder Analysis and Value Chain analysis were use in this research. The result of shows the root cause are are customers’ lack of product knowledge, lack of sales channel, limited human resources skill and knowledge and limited capital and financial access for Paguyuban Bumi Mandiri. <br /> <br /> Not only caused by Paguyuban Bumi Mandiri itself, these problems arise and caused by other stakeholders such as suppliers, goverment, etc. In completion, the inclusive business model can be used to solve the problem. There are several actions to improving Paguyuban Bumi Mandiri operate their business. They are improving the customers’ product knowledge and awareness, improving sales channel, improving human resources, and improving the capital and financiall access by colaboret with several stakeholder. text |
