Summary: | Shallot (Allium ascolanicum L.) is a leading vegetable commodity that gives

the third biggest national contribution which is widely used as food seasoning and

traditional medicine substance. The application of NPK inorganic fertilizer is

needed by shallot plant to suffice its nutrition so that it can grow optimum and able

to produce high quality bulb. This research is aimed to know the effect of four

different dosage of NPK fertilizer application on growth and yield of shallot mini

bulb Tuk Tuk variety originated from TSS, and also to know which dosage of NPK

fertilizer gives the best result. The variables observed are the average of plant

height and leaf amount in harvest time, fresh and dried tuber stover weight, tuber

stover weight loss, mini bulb weight, mini bulb diameter, and the percentage of mini

bulb yield achieving the suitable criteria for a seed. The dosages of NPK fertilizer

used in this research are the standard and modified fertilizer dosage of PT. East

West Indonesia, which are no fertilizer application (control), NPK 50% SOP, 100%

SOP, and 150% SOP. Result shows that the application of different dosage of NPK

fertilizer gives a significant effect on growth and yield of shallot mini bulb Tuk Tuk

variety originated from TSS (True Shallot Seed) for the observed variables of the

average plant height and leaf amount in harvest time, fresh and dried tuber stover

weight, mini bulb weight, and mini bulb diameter, but has no significant effect on

tuber stover weight loss. The dosage of NPK fertilizer which gives the best results

on growth and yield of shallot mini bulb for all variables observed is the dosage of

NPK 100% SOP. |
