Description
Summary:
With the increasing in development, the air quality has been decreased. In addition to gaseous pollutants, particles with size between 0.01 – 5 mm is a major source of air pollution. Transportation sector is one of the contributors of PM10 in the atmosphere. This study aims to predict the dispersion of ambient PM10 concentrations from the transportation sector in Karees, Bandung. The study was conducted on seven roads with high traffic density, namely: Ahmad Yani, Laswi, PHH Mustofa, Abraham Adjie or Kiaracondong also its flyover, Gatot Subroto, and Jakarta. Total emission load from the seven roads is 277.32 ton/year. The highest emission load of 77.35 ton/year is found in Gatot Subroto Road. Motorcycle, with 133,029 ton/year of emission load, is the vehicle type that contribute the highest emission load in the study area. CALINE4 is used to predict PM10 concentrations in ambient air. PM10 concentrations can be predicted on the houses near the roadway in the Karees area that located less than 50 m from the roadside. The predicted concentration range between 53,34 - 160,57 μg/m3/24 hours with the number of RMSE in weekday is 39,563 μg/m3 and in weekend is 51,339 μg/m3.
