<p align="justify">Museum of Regional Contemporary Art exists in order to answer the need of archive, treatment, and contemporary art publication from Yogyakarta Contemporary Artists. This museum is also present to fulfill the interest of community towards the art-based tourism in Sleman. The museum will display all kinds of contemporary art objects, such as in 2D, 3D or even multimedia. Main anchor of the museum is contemporary art objects that have elements of Yogyakarta’s batik. Cemeti Art Foundation and Indonesian Visual Art Archive is the initiator of the museum, with the financial help from Sleman Regency Government. The project will be built on Jalan Palagan Tentara Pelajar, Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region, specifically on a 22000 sqm surface. The area around the road is having a transition from housing area to commercial area. In the process of designing museum, main issues that are concerned about area community issue, sequences, connectivity, and circulation. The elaboration of the issue, existing condition, and location of site lead into a macro design concept which is “The Museum of Contemporary Art as the Linking Media for Art dan Society” with “Woting Seni Lan Masyarakat” as a title. There area three criterias to fulfill the concept, namely the existence of binding public spaces, creating the impression of art in daily life, and educating society with an interesting method through the design of space. The design result is a museum in a “friendly” building to the surrounding context, the one that has binding public spaces, and sequences of the museum thath enhance people’s understanding of contemporary art’s meaning.<p align="justify">
