Description
Summary:In the Nusa Tenggara Timur region there are still remote areas that have not received electricity. In accordance with existing energy potential, solar energy is the most likely to be built. In this study the authors try to analyze financially related to the proposed development of Solar Power in one of the remote areas in East Nusa Tenggara Province in Manatang village. This study aims to determine whether the proposal meets the minimum economic criteria to replace fossil fuels in remote areas and what governments should do to develop solar energy in the area. The analytical approach used in this study is financial analysis by calculating Payback Period, NPV and IRR. The results of the calculation obtained the NPV value of the area is negative and during the project time 20 years has not obtained return on investment capital caused by the high cost of initial investment development that is not balanced with electricity sales revenue. To be able to lower the investment cost, it is necessary to make regulations related to the solar power plant industry and the improvement of supporting infrastructure at the solar power plant development site.
