PUBLIC HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AS A PART OF URBAN RENEWAL ACTIVITY AT PT. KAI'S LAND IN KIARACONDONG

<p align="justify">PT KAI's land in Kiaracondong Bandung, now has physical declined and toward to loose the vitality (underused) because of the used was under the capacity. The other hand, Bandung has needs land for development of activities. In fact, PT KAI's land can be used if the capacity be optimized. <br /> <br /> The problem can be solved by urban renewal. With this strategy, the use PT KAI's land can be increased by planning new acitivities, which more integrate with surround area. The purposes are to encourage economic growth and to increase vitality. The concept is to create "integrated area" with three efforts to realize it, which are making masterplan, creating more open space, and increasing accessibility. <br /> <br /> The development of PT KAI's land is mixed-use development with three activities, which are commercial, residential, and public. The object study is public housing, because the twenty-four hour life brought by public housing can create liveable area. It's also to support the surround activities, such as public housing for labor, public housing for PT KAI's employee, and public housing for workers. From 43 hectare land areas, 41% is used for open space and the remains is used for mixed-use development with purpose is to decrease the density of surround area. For making accessibility more easier, have been made 10 new access, arcade, skywalk, skytrain station, and public-transportation route.<p align="justify"> <br />
