However, solid distillation residue of cajuputi leaves usage has not been optimal since its low palatability and nutrition. This study aims to determine the effect of fermentation as a pretreatment process on the quality of solid distillation residue of cajuputi leaves (Melalueca cajuputi Powell) as cattle feed by reviewing its effect on lignocellulose content, protein content, ammonia and VFA concentrations based on in vitro tests. Tests carried out on three types of feed namely solid distillation residue of cajuputi leaves from fresh leaves without pretreatment (P1), cajuputi solid waste distillation leaves residue obtained from pretreated fresh leaves before distillation by T.viride with submerged fermentation method ( SMF (P2) and solid distillation residue of cajuputi leaves obtained from pretreated solid waste distillation by P. chrysosporium with solid state fermentation (SSF) method from non pretreated fresh leaves before distillation (P3). Lignocellulose contain was carried out by chesson-datta method and the nutrient content was measured based on proximate analysis. In vitro test was carried out according to the Tilley and Terry methods and measurement of NH3 concentrations using the conway microdifusion method and volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentrations based on steam distillation results. The study showed that the crude protein content in pretreated cajuputi solid waste distillation leaves was increased. The crude protein content of P1, P2 and P3 were 6.90%, 8.01% and 7.02% respectively. Then, there was decreasing in the crude fiber content of pretreated cajuputi solid waste leaves distillation residues. The crude fiber content of P1, P2, P3 were 19.72%, 16.37% and 18.86% respectively. The degradation of cellulose and hemicellulose in P2 was 7.32% and 14.84% while in P3 degradation of hemicellulose and lignin was 24.10% and 8.65%. Based on the in vitro test, pretreated solid distillation residue of cajuputi leaves results increased ammonia concentration and VFA concentration.<p align="justify"> text
