Summary: | Public vehile stop sign as a visual communication that placed on pedestrian area

has the function of providing information as a sign where public transportation

should stop and be a place where pessanger can wait the ride. In 2016 at Bandung,

through Dinas Perhubungan, imposed a stop signage with the new design. This stop

signage is the first ever signage in Indonesia thatconsist of more complete

information about public transport routes. This change was made in conetion with

the Bandung Urban Mobility Project as one vision of Bandung to become a smart

city. The current stop signage types have more specific functions such as; Angkot

stop signage, Bus TMB stop signage, and school bus stop signage. The goal of the

sign is to meet the needs of the community in carrying out activities using public

transport to stop at a right place as to reduce the risk of congestion. But in reality,

many people are still misunderstanding the function of the sign because it was

considered not able to meet the needs. The purpose of this study is to evaluating the

signage based on user experience spesificaly in Angkot stop signage because it was

the only signage designed by the designer, Kudos Design Collaboratory and it was

the most stop signage that applied in Bandung. This research using a type of

explanatory sequential study in which UX evaluation tes data becomes a support

for analysis the signage by doing observation, interviews, and literature studies.

The results of this study indicate that public transport stop signage in Bandung

have not been able to meet the needs of public transport users. In addition, the

signage that have been spreaded around the city have inconsistent grapich

elements. It can be concluded that there is an inconsistency between facility

providers expetation and user experience. In this study, public transport stop

signage design recommendation was presented by considering the needs and

experience of public transport users to keep up with Bandung Urban Mobility

Project. |
