Description
Summary:<palign="justify">Province with coastal area was given authority to manage resources found in its territorial sea. Province’s territrorial sea was twelve nautical miles measured from the coastline. Based on Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Number 32 of 2004, coastline was defined based on the lowest tide (LAT). Meanwhile, based on Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2014, coastline was defined based on the highest tide (HAT). The difference of coastline definition caused coastline to be shifted to the land. As a consequency, the authorized area of province will be reduced. The aims of this research were to find out the vertical distance between LAT and HAT, the significance of coastline shifting, and the difference of the authorized area. Tidal harmonic analiysis using least square method was applied to the tidal data using T_Tide program. The calculation of the coastline shifting and reduction of the authorized area were based on coastline length and hipsography data derived from LPI and RBI map.The vertical distances between LAT and HAT were 1,361 m for Pulau Tello, 2,606 m for Manado, and 2,482 m for Ambon. The coastline shifting for all area will be unsignificant on map which scale was smaller or equal to 1:250.000, meanwhile the coastline shifting for Manado and Ambon will be unsignificant on map which scale was 1:50.000 or 1:100.000. The reductions of the authorized area were 0,810 km² for Pulau Tello, 7,025 km² for Manado, and 17,810 km² for Ambon.<palign="justify">
