Summary: |
There was a mudflow occurred in District of Porong, Sidoarjo, East Java on May 29th, 2006. In the vicinity of the center of the mudflow formed a crater where in this research is referred to as a caldera. The caldera is a volcanic feature formed by the collapse of soil following a volcanic eruption. In this caldera occurred subsidence in circular or almost circular shapes. A Terrestrial Laser Scanner is one of the technologies that can be used to record the shapes of the caldera. This tool can create a 3D models from its mapped objects. From this method to determine the shape of caldera, the research is done. The aim of the research is to make a 3D model of Sidoarjo mudflow area and the formed volcanic features. The method used in this research include, data collecting by using Terrestrial Laser Scanner, data processing, and analysis. However, to form the 3D models, the data processing needs to be done in advance, which includes the registration of data, filtering, and surfacing. The value obtained from the registration error is 0.005m. Based on the results of "surfacing", some morphological features that exist in Sidoardjo Mudflow Area, like Caldera, mud flow lines, patterns of cracks, body dikes, and roads are now can be seen. From this research, leads the formation of 3D geometry models of Sidoarjo mudflow which can be used to know the morphological features that exist and also to determine the cause of the mudflow in Sidoarjo which is not caused by the reactivation of Watukosek fault.
|
