Description
Summary:1. ABSTRACT

Determining Visual Comfort Criteria in Semi-Open Plan Office

By

Ivan Wirawan 13313030

Ayuning Fauziyah 13313074

(Eng. Physics Program)

Green building concept is currently emerging in the construction industry. One of its terms is about how to use the daylight efficiently in a building. However, it is knownthat in utilizing daylight, occupant visual comfort will be disturbed. Visual comfort itself is not explained clearly yet about how it affect occupant.

Theobjective of thisresearch is determining possible variables that affect visual discomfort using HDR imaging techniques and post-occupancy evaluation. After the variables were determined, a mathematical model was provided with a limited range of value.

This research was conducted in B4T office with a total of 30 data of post-occupancy evaluation that were paired with the measurement data (luminance, illuminance, HDR image). The measurement data then will be processed further using two test, namely t-test and classical assumption test.

The resulting statistical data shows that there are 4variables which can be formulated into a mathematical model. The expression is y = 2.919 – 0.003Lveil– 0.084Lmin, entire– 0.00009Lmax, entire+ 0,003Lmean,entire.The output from the model is defined as visual comfort level with the value of y> 2,5 means that the occupants are comfortable and withy≤ 2,5 means the opposite. The value ranges base on the perception model are as follows.

Type IV:Lveil< 7 cd/m2; Lmin, entire< 1,3 cd/m2; Lmax, entire< 1650 cd/m2; Lmean, entire> 145 cd/m2,

Type III: Lveil = 7 ~ 17 cd/m2; Lmin, entire = 1,3 ~ 1,7 cd/m2; Lmax, entire = 1650 ~ 2611 cd/m2; Lmean, entire = 145 ~ 110 cd/m2,

Type II: Lveil = 17 ~ 54 cd/m2; Lmin, entire = 1,7 ~ 2,3 cd/m2; Lmax, entire = 2611 ~ 3352 cd/m2; Lmean, entire = 110 ~ 92 cd/m2,

Type I:Lveil> 54 cd/m2; Lmin, entire> 2,3 cd/m2; Lmax, entire> 3352 cd/m2; Lmean, entire< 92 cd/m2.

Keyword : daylighting, semi-open plan office, HDR imaging, visual comfort
