Description
Summary:Textile industries have produced waste water which come from many treatment. Characteristic of textile waste water relate to the composition of raw materials which used in the textile producing. Waste water used to contain COD, BOD, metal ions and dye compounds. The objective of this research is to study the kinetics of
the textile waste water based on the ozon process which use to degrade the COD and colour as the pre and post treatments. In this research, varied ozon dosages were
used: 1,16 and 3,81 mg/menit. Varied waste oncentrations were also applied in the pre treatment experiments using 100 mg/L (RB5), 100 mg/L (RB5 + 1 g/L stratch) and also the real waste water which enter through waste treatment (IPAL). While the varied waste water using in the post treatment is 10 mg/L (RB5), 40 mg/L (RB5 from the biological teratment which was precipitated. Experiment result showed decrease concentration in initial concentration that was 100 mg/L. It achieved removal eficiency of 90% in 5 hours, while the dye waste with starch 1 gr/L showed removal efficiency about 70%. Waste water as post treatment with 10 mg/L and 40 mg/L initial concentration showed the removal efficieny above the 90%. COD removal has a lower removal efficiency than color discrimination. To prove the existence of degradation process, BOD/COD measurement is increasing. In the experiment using an increasing scale of the reactor, there was a decrease in the effectiveness of both color and COD removal. The study of color and COD removal shows the pseudo-order reaction kinetics, as evidenced by the results of calculations and xperimental results that have a similarity.
