Description
Summary:
Through The Continent Land Boundary Agreement in 1969 and The Sea Border Agreement in 1970, it has been agreed between Indonesia and Malaysia for the division of the seabed (continental shelf), but there is no agreement on the division of the Exclusive Economic Zone. The impact of this thing is Indonesian fishermen were captured by Malaysian sea police because of the uncertainty of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) boundary due to the absence of rules on the use of natural resources in the water column. This final research project aims to establish the EEZ boundary of Malacca Strait between Indonesia and Malaysia. The method used to establish the EEZ is the principle of equidistance referring to Technical Aspect of the Law of the Sea (TALOS) and the principle of equivalent referring to the equitable solution.

From the results of the application of the two principles are obtained the same area of EEZ of Indonesia and Malaysia. The maximum shift of the equivalent principle to the equidistance principle is 26,0308 kilometers and the minimum shift is 48,3954 meters. From the research result of this final task can also be concluded that the application of partial effect of Half Effect for the determination of EEZ in Malacca Strait.
