Description
Summary:The main component of supply chain is the procurement of goods. One measure of procurement

performance is timely delivery of goods. Delivery of goods delivery can be a major problem

for the Procurement Function and will adversely affect the Users of Goods. At PT Pindad,

delivery of goods that are not timely becomes a problem that is important because the delay in

delivery of goods affect the smoothness of production. By 2015 the delay in delivery of goods

amounted to 14.4%, in 2016 the delay in delivery of goods increased by 23.3%. Looking at the

facts if not immediately done repairs it will potentially not fulfill the demand in a timely manner

that resulted in losses for the company.

One of the causes of late delivery of goods is the systematic procurement system. In the existing

condition there are still many procedures that do not have formal standardization. The efforts

made by previous studies related to the improvement of the procurement system are still partial.

In this research, the improvement of goods procurement system is done thoroughly based on

the procurement process according to Rendon (2008), namely the procurement planning

process, the procurement process, the monitoring process of goods delivery, and the process of

evaluating the performance of the Goods Provider.

Stages of improvement of procurement planning process is done using Business Process

Improvement (BPI) approach by Harrington (1991). The basis of this procurement planning

process improvement is the procurement planning process of existing conditions, benchmarks,

and literature. The improvement of the procurement process is done by using Business Process

Improvement (BPI) approach. The basis of this procurement process improvement process is

the procurement planning process of existing condition, benchmark, and literature. Improved

process of monitoring the delivery of goods is done by using Business Process Improvement

(BPI) approach. The basis of this process of monitoring the delivery of goods is the process of

monitoring the delivery of goods existing conditions, and benchmarks. Improvement of the

Performance Goods evaluation process is also conducted using Business Process Improvement

(BPI) approach. The basis for the improvement of the Performance Provider's performance

evaluation process is the benchmark.

Procurement system improvement results can reduce the implementation time of the

procurement process for 24 working days, where the existing condition spends 89 working

days. So the time of the procurement process of goods to be 65 working days. There are

limitations of research conducted. The current study has not discussed the procurement of

services. Future research can discuss about procurement of goods and services. In this study

also has not done the implementation of the proposed procurement system proposal. In the

future research can improve the procurement system by doing the implementation of the

design. The improvement of the procurement system is still manual. In the next research can

improve the manual procurement system into an electronic procurement system.
