<p align="justify"> The low quality of education is one of the problems faced by Indonesia today. One way to improve the quality of education is to improve the learning method that is done in the classroom. The method used should be able to generate motives, interests and passions of the students. To know whether the method is right, lecturers have to try some learning methods and see the reactions of students to the learning methods. In order for lecturers to objectively determine the effectiveness of a learning method, lecturers must apply that method from beginning to end without being distracted. Therefore, it’s necessary to have a tool that can monitor the condition and reaction of students and inform the lecturers. <br /> <br /> Two face recognition and face expressions recognition have been used in designing this tool, using Viola-Jones and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) methods, and using the You Only Look Once (YOLO) library. A database has been created for the system to recognize faces and eight face expressions. Then face and facial expressions data read by the system are sent through the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol to notify lecturers. Data successfully delivered with time approaching real time, less than one second. <p align="justify">
