Even so, the standard is not discussed about stress analysis using numerical analysis. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> In this final project, we will discuss stress analysis on Square Groove welded joint with manual calculation according to AWS D1.1 standard, numerical simulation using Ansys software, and Tension Testing. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> From the results of the comparison of numerical simulations, manual calculations and tension tests, the strength of welded joints based on the tensile test is greater than welded joints strength based on AWS D1.1 standard and finite element simulation. Based on the finite element simulation, when given a critical load of 17485 N, the maximum stress occurs at the weld toe, about 213.72 MPa. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> In addition, based on ANSYS simulation results, reinforcement size also affects the maximum stress that occurs in the welded joint. The greater the size of the reinforcement on the welded joint, the greater the stress that occurs on the weld toe. text
